Credentialing & Badge System
The Applied AI Fellowship uses a badge-based credentialing system that recognizes your capability level and is renewable to stay current with evolving AI practices.
Badge Tracks

Note: Each track runs over multiple weeks with learning outcomes at each stage (for example Bloom-style progression), all building toward one credentialed capstone artifact per track. Badges are awarded when that track’s requirements—including the capstone—are satisfied. See Artifact Requirements by Track. Your cohort may assign interim deliverables; unless stated otherwise, panel review focuses on the capstone package.
Badge Issuance Process
Artifact Review Panel
- All badges require submission of real, production-grade artifacts
- Panel review ensures quality and practical application
- Artifacts must demonstrate capability across all scoring dimensions
Versioned Credentials
- Badges are versioned (e.g., Applied AI Delivery Leader-v2026)
- Version reflects the program version and year of completion
- Ensures credential reflects current best practices
Renewal Requirements
- Renewal Period: Every 3 years
- Purpose: Stay current with evolving AI practices and technologies
- Process: Submit updated artifacts demonstrating continued capability
Scoring Dimensions
All badges are assessed across the same five universal dimensions as Assessment & Grading (aligned with the fellowship methodology):
1. Judgment
Quality of decisions under uncertainty
- Ability to make sound decisions when information is incomplete
- Tradeoff awareness and restraint
- Knowing when not to use AI
2. Rigor
Evidence-based reasoning
- Data-driven decision making
- Proper evaluation and validation
- Evidence-based approach to problem-solving
3. Transfer
Ability to apply learning to new contexts
- Adapting knowledge to new situations
- Generalizing from specific examples
- Practical application across domains
4. Governance
Awareness of risk, controls, and accountability
- Risk identification and mitigation
- Proper controls and guardrails
- Accountability and auditability
5. Tool & AI Mediation
How AI tools augment human capability
- Appropriate tool selection and integration
- Awareness of how tools shape cognition and workflows
- Tool-mediated governance and accountability considerations

Pass Criteria
To earn a badge, you must meet:
- Minimum 70% overall across all five scoring dimensions
- No critical governance failures - governance is non-negotiable
- All required artifacts submitted - complete deliverables
Distinction Criteria
For exceptional performance:
- Demonstrates restraint - Shows awareness of when not to use AI
- Explicitly kills or defers unsuitable use cases - Good judgment
- Produces reusable, enterprise-grade artifacts - Production quality
Public Sector Badge Variants
Public sector badges emphasize additional dimensions:
- Accountability - Clear responsibility and ownership
- Auditability - Full traceability of decisions and processes
- Explainability - Ability to explain AI system behavior
These variants align with public sector requirements including:
- PDPA / GDPR compliance
- AI governance frameworks
- Procurement transparency
